The Kingston School of Dance
- Choreographing the Next Generation!
Over 40 years of promoting and creating dance in Kingston!!
The Kingston School of Dance has been promoting and teaching the art of dance in Kingston Ontario since 1967. We provide high standards of dance education in a training facility that promotes technical, musical and artistic development. The Kingston School of Dance is dedicated to enriching the lives of all students regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, gender or ability, including those with special needs. We have dance programs for all ages, preschoolers to adults. Our First Steps program is for preschoolers who dream to dance; exploring movement, creativity and imagination while developing their motor and social skills. As each dancer dances to his or her own beat, our primary goal is to engage our students in a nurturing environment to discover their unique, innate ability to dance.
We have been celebrating over 40 years of dance education and continue to inspire new discoveries, stimulate imagination and instill a deep passion for dance. Whether a student is pursuing dance for recreation or as a professional career, the Kingston School of Dance offers a technical base in classical ballet, Cecchetti method, which streams our students into such venues as the National Ballet of Canada, Quinte Ballet School, Alberta Ballet, Ryerson University, York University and George Brown College. All of our ballet classes have live piano accompaniment.
Rhythm and musicality are enhanced by nurturing and encouraging our students to explore multiple dance disciplines; Musical Theatre, Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Latin & Ballroom, Hip Hop, Latino Jazz, Lyrical, Acro, Contemporary/Modern and NEW THIS YEAR: Tap and Latin Club Dancing.
