Summer Dance Camp
takes place during the last two weeks in July.

• There is one session held each week.
• Week 1: July 20 - 24.
• Week 2: July 27 - 31.
• Camp runs on weekdays from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
• You may register your child for one or both sessions.
• Each session will be theme-based (TBA).

» The Cost is $200.00 per student per session.

The information will be used to pre-register your child for the Kingston School of Dance Summer Dance Camp and will allow us to contact you directly with specific details to help you and your child prepare for the first day of camp. We will contact you directly concerning method of payment. The Kingston School of Dance now offers a Summer Dance Camp for children ages 6 to 12 for 2 one-week sessions during the summer. Each week will culminate in a performance written, choreographed and performed by the children themselves! It's a great opportunity for your little ones to get involved in dance and drama in a fun and creative environment.

The Summer Dance Camp will be held at the Kingston School of Dance at 370 King St West, Kingston. Students check in at 8:30-9 am. Classes will run from 9am - 4pm with pick up between 4 – 4:30pm. Students will be expected to wear proper dance attire during the mornings. Shorts and T-shirts are acceptable in the afternoons. Students will need to bring a lunch, snacks and drinks. Due to allergy concerns, KSD is a peanut free school. There will be outdoor activities so sunscreen, hats, etc are required. Please send a large overshirt for messy activities.

The day will run in 50 minute sessions with 10 minute breaks between activities. We will be offering a selection of dance disciplines: introduction to ballet, jazz, lyrical and hip hop. Set and design using found objects, paint, glue and imagination! Song and script; students will develope acting skills, and will co-write the script with our drama coach for the final performance held on Friday from 3 – 4 pm showcasing the week's accomplishments.

Students will have the opportunity to experience live theatre at the Wellington Street Theatre with this year's production of Aladdin. We will meet the cast before the show and see all the backstage action. Students who participate in both sessions will have an alternate activity. We know your child will enjoy their time at the Kingston School of Dance Summer Dance Camp, and hope that next year we will be able to expand the program to include more children in their exploration of the wonderful world of dance!
