The Kingston School of Dance
- Choreographing the Next Generation!
At the Kingston School of Dance we make dance accessible through education programs in the school community as well as outreach efforts for those who are not able to access a conventional theatre with our performance team, NEX 2 DANCE! We have been involved with “An Evening of Dance - Kingston’s Best”, in support of Kingston’s Hospice Palliative Care, “Timepieces” by Rising Sun Productions, “Dusk Dances” with the Corpus Group in City Park, Kingston and “First Capital Days” sponsored by the City of Kingston. In collaboration with the Wellington Street Theatre, several of our students were featured in “CATS” directed and choreographed by Ebon Gage, Artistic Director of the Kingston School of Dance, as well as the “The Hunchback of Notre Dame. In December of 2008, Kingston School of Dance was selected as the host school for the Moscow Ballet’s performance of the “Great Russian Nutcracker” at the K-Rock Centre, augmented by 41 Kingston School of Dance students and several students from other local dance schools.
We are a non-profit registered charitable organization, administered by the Kingston Community Ballet Association, the Board of which is elected from within the general membership. The Kingston School of Dance offers a number of bursaries every year which help make dance training available to students and families who may not have the financial means to support their desire to dance. We have a long-term and active relationship with Pro Kids.
